As the centre develops other tasks will arise.

Trial Period
All volunteers will go through a month’s trial period when starting. Volunteers will be answerable to the Centre co-ordinator, or the person who is in charge of that session.

Expenses
Volunteers are eligible for reasonable travel expenses to and from the centre. They are also eligible to claim for a food allowance (currently £2.50) if they work for 4 hours or more per session unless they have a meal at the centre. All claims must be made within a month of purchase. Expenses cannot be paid without receipts.

Commitment
Volunteers are asked to turn up at the time that they have said they will be available. If they are unable to be there, they are asked to contact Colette Joyce in good time at the Centre on 020 7609 2616.

We have two volunteer reps who come to Centre and Management committee meetings. There is also an optional prayer meeting before every session followed by a briefing for all volunteers.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of being a volunteer at our refugee centre please contact the centre co-ordinator.
