We are delighted when people wish to get married at St Mary Magdalene, and we will do everything that we can to make your day as special as possible.
In getting married in church, or in having a service of blessing following a civil marriage, you are not only coming to the traditional place of weddings, but you are also saying that you wish God to be involved in some way in your married life together.
You can be married at St Mary Magdalene’s Church if: one of the partners lives in the parish or if one of the partners is on the electoral role of the parish of St Mary Magdalene and St David. This is a legal requirement. You may be married at St Mary Magdalene if one or both partners has been divorced, providing that your relationship did not in any way contribute to the break-up of your former marriage.
In addition to the marriage service, we welcome people to celebrate their marriage by having a service of blessing following a civil marriage. We also offer the opportunity for people to renew their vows in church. There are no legal requirements that need to be met for either of these services, and these services can be arranged by agreement with the vicar.
