Following its launch in the US earlier this year, Google UK has introduced local search and mapping tools in the UK araound 20 April 2005, and we think it's generally great. Google Maps is still the Beta version, and  the actual location does not seem to be quite accurate in all instances. However, it provides extremely clear maps of the local area as well as contact details and driving directions:
